Rekindled Handmade Recycled Jewellery :: About
Rekindled
Rekindled is about bringing new life to old beads.  It is important to me that my jewellery is environmentally friendly, and so I only used used, vintage, second-hand, reclaimed or recycled beads and buttons.  Sourcing these materials is takes more time but it means that as well as being eco-friendly my creations are totally unique and one-of-a-kind.

All other materials (findings, wire, thread etc) are sourced from a local independent supplier, also based in Canterbury.  Using a local supplier reduces air miles, which means a smaller carbon footprint.

Bio
Hi, I’m Zoe from Canterbury in the UK – thanks for dropping in. Crafts of all kinds have been an interest of mine since I was a child. Nowadays I am a beadaholic. Since I have made far more jewellery than I or my friends could ever wear, I am hoping to find loving new homes for some of my creations, and share what I am doing with the world.  I love beads and my dream is to one day own my own bead shop and run classes…but that is still many years in the future. I am completely self-taught and always keen to learn more, and I hope by sharing what I am doing here that others will be able to learn from me as well.

My inspiration comes, quite simply, from the beads and buttons I find. When I am handling beautiful beads, the ideas come flowing into my mind. Sometimes I try an idea and it doesn’t work, but that is all part of the creative process. You can read more about this process in my blog .

Besides beading, I have a degree in business administration with computing and am a trained primary school teacher.  I have A-Levels in French and German but I only speak it on holiday, and have a Grade 8 in recorder (yes, the instrument that 5 year olds play).  I am happily married to Chris who is a brilliant web designer and has put up with lots of silly questions during the construction of this website.
