Hi, I’m Zoe, I’m 26 and I live near Canterbury (UK) with my husband and 2 cats.  This is my own personal blog, where I write about whatever I am interested in for my own pleasure.  I started blogging in 2008, but at the beginning of 2009 I decided it was time for a fresh start, deleted my old blog and started again from scratch.

My interests include environmentalism, something I have been interested in for as long as I can remember, and also crafts, in particular jewellery and card making.  I blog about both of these things a lot.  When it comes to crafts, I really like making things out of recycled materials, which combines both of these interests.  I have a huge collection of beads reclaimed from old, broken jewellery as well as random bits and bobs that I have picked up here and there because I just know they will come in handy one day.

My philosophy on the environment is that we should all be focussing on the first of the three R’s and work on reducing our impact on the earth.  For me individually, this means trying to make do with less and in 2007 I joined The Compact, a group of individuals who resolve to buy nothing new for an entire year.  I think I only managed 6 months without buying anything at all, but the experience has definitely changed my shopping habits.  If you want to know why I believe that less is more, and that we should all try to buy less stuff, watch The Story of Stuff - it is 20 minutes long, but it will be 20 minutes well spent.
